Race Day

Race Site:

Run for Water takes place at Mill Lake Park in Abbotsford (33015 Bevan Ave).  The start line for all races in on Bevan Ave. and the finish line for the Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K is on the road and in the park for the 5K Fun Run.

Race Day Schedule:

7:00am - Marathon start

8:00am - Half Marathon start

8:05am - Pre-Race Program

8:30am - 10K start

9:00am - 5K start

9:15am - Kids Activities

10:30am - Race Program

11:30am - Awards Ceremony

 

Parking:

Parking will be limited to MSA Arena, Mill Lake ball diamond, Sevenoaks Mall, Godson Elementary (marathoners only), Abbotsford Middle School, and side streets in the area.  Please car pool and allow extra time for getting to the race start at Mill Lake Park (Bevan entrance). If you are a resident along the race course and require overnight parking, it will be available at McCallum Centre (park along the fence at the south side of the parking lot). 

Road Closures:

Many roads will be closed along the race routes from 7am - 1pm.  Please view the attached map for a detailed list of road closures.

Bag Check:

Bag check is available at the start/finish area.  Please label all items and allow extra time to check bags prior to race start.

Race Timing:

Run for Water will be using MyLaps Bib Tag timing system from Race Headquarters.  The timing device will be attached to your race bib/number.  Do not remove it.  It must be worn on the front of your shirt.  Your time is recorded as you cross the timing mats at the start and finish line.  No timing device = no time.  You do not need to return your timing device at the end of the race.

Results:

Race results will be posted on the race results board in the start/finish area post-race.  Complete race day results will be posted on the website by 6pm on race day.

Medals & Awards:

All finisher will receive a medal as they cross the finish line.  Awards for overall and age group winners will be given out at the Awards & Recognition Ceremony.

Run for Water is pleased to have Marathon Photos as the official race photographer.  Save your bib number to retrieve race photos post-race.
