Envision Financial

At Envision, we are committed to making a positive and lasting impact in the communities in which we live and work. That’s why we’re proud to partner with Run for Water to sponsor the Envision A Better World: Learn, Create, Run program. Through this unique curriculum-based program, over 1,000 children in Kindergarten to grade eight have had the opportunity to learn about the world’s water crisis and have raised more than $60,000 for clean water well systems in Ethiopia. In 2012, Envision A Better World will launch a new school program designed for students in grades 9 to 11. The success of this program has been phenomenal, helping to create a generation of global citizens, equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to become active ambassadors to champion this issue.

Envision Financial is a division of First West Credit Union, B.C.'s third-largest credit union with 37 branches and 29 insurance offices throughout the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, Kitimat and Okanagan, Similkameen and Thompson regions. Led by Launi Skinner, First West has approximately $6.2 billion in assets under administration, 167,000 members and more than 1,300 employees. For eight years running, Envision was named one of the 50 Best Employers in Canada. Envision is designated a Caring Company by Imagine Canada. Visit www.envisionfinancial.ca for more information.

Domain7

Domain7 has had close ties with Run for Water since its very first year. Since the very beginning we’ve provided web strategy, marketing and online systems for the run, but our interest and involvement goes way beyond the web.

Every year we’ve had a group of team members do the run or walk and others have manned water stations. Last year we even created custom “Domain7 *hearts* Run for Water” t-shirts for our team! It’s something we look forward to every year.

It’s been amazing to be part of Run for Water’s growth. Very few causes combine such a pressing global issue with a great local event. It’s really a privilege to contribute to giving the people of Ethiopia a small boost, and at the same time, it’s just a really fun event.

Globe Printers

At Globe Printers, we’ve always upheld that we have a responsibility to be more than just a provider of professional print services, but to also contribute to the greater good of the communities we serve. So when Ken Baerg and Peg Peters, two of the founders of Run for Water and friends to Globe President Ken Giesbrecht, approached us for print support, we were all ears. And after hearing about their inspiring efforts to provide a clean and sustainable water source for the people of Ethiopia, we were in. What’s great about Run for Water is that they’re breaking down a huge, global issue into a tangible, local movement that promotes community spirit and physical activity as we all work together for a solution to the worldwide water crisis. We also appreciate their commitment to financial transparency and stewardship, demonstrated by keeping overhead costs low and ensuring the majority of donations go directly towards funding water projects. We feel privileged to be part of such a great initiative, and participating in the Run for Water event is an annual highlight for us.

Valley Pulp & Sawdust

Since participating in Run For Water 2011 (5km) with my sons, they have not stopped talking about it and so we are excited to run together again this year with a greater purpose. We are running to see all the smiling faces of participants and volunteers and receive that medal at the finish line! Most importantly we are excited to see how much is raised for HOPE international. We have spread this excitement to our family around us as well and many of them will participate at this year’s event.
I have learned many great things while growing up in a family business. As part of the third generation of the family business I have watched my grandparents, my parents and my uncles & aunts give to the community around them. They have lead by example how important it is to support your community. We are following their example and supporting the Run for Water because of the great sense of community that rallies together to run such an event. Not only does it bring the community together promoting a healthy lifestyle but it has a purpose to help others (HOPE International) get clean water to communities in Ethiopia. This is a very important cause and we are excited to not only sponsor this event but to participate in it with our families, that will perhaps continue the tradition of supporting their own communities in future generations to come. Leaving a legacy, leading by example.

RE/MAX Little Oak recognizes that Run for Water provides a unique platform to raise funds for delivering clean water to tens of thousands of people in Ethiopia and we think that is important!

Dr. Mike Nicholls

Dr. Mike and his staff are passionate about both their local community and the greater global community. When searching for an opportunity to give back to both these communities, our office found that the Run for Water provided a great platform to do so.

The Run for Water promotes healthy living and an active lifestyle within the local community, bringing people together and uniting the community in a fun, family-oriented environment. As well, The Run for Water supports the greater global community through assisting the people of Ethiopia that are in dire need to obtain the most basic necessity of life - sustainable water resources. Moreover, the Run for Water and HOPE International are excellent organizations that support a great cause, so choosing to support the Run for Water was an absolute must for us!

Dr. Mike provides his patients with complete and lasting dentistry. He is personally dedicated to the overall health of his patients, and feels that maintaining good oral health, eating healthy, and staying active are absolutely essential.

Vitala (Bakerview EcoDairy)

We love to get involved with local efforts that bring people together and create positive change. Our commitment to wellness begins with healthy foods but we are passionate about healthy physical activity and supporting community initiatives.

It’s amazing what a small group of local and dedicated volunteers can accomplish and so it is with great enthusiasm that the Bakerview EcoDairy and Vitala Foods support the efforts of the Run For Water Society this year. Whether you run, jog, or walk we look forward to seeing you at the event this year.  Bill Vanderkooi, CEO, Nutriva Group
